Q: If I hire two Goblin Warchiefs, can I choose multiple tribes? What if I choose the same tribe twice?
A: If you hire two Warchiefs, you may not choose two different tribes.
Q: Certain models can't receive Upgrades in the Guildhall. Is that intentional?
A: Yes. Characters (named models) cannot take Upgrades. They bring their own gear and have strong preferences. Current list of Characters: Seigen, Tharos, Anari, Na'ra, Chanra, Kogetsu, Chiyohime, Tomoe.
Q: In the Open Hostilities Scenario, can I score multiple times for the same model if I Incapacitate it more than once?
A: Yes. You score each time you Incapacitate a model, even if it had been Incapacitated before in the same Scenario.
Q: Can a model that started the turn Incapacitated score Stand Your Ground if healed and remained stationary?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I loot the same Intrigue token multiple times in Supply Run?
A: Yes.
Q: If a model has Resistance I and suffers an attack with multiple keywords it references, is PW reduced once or multiple times?
A: PW is reduced once, regardless of how many relevant keywords are present.
Q: Can STK be increased above the QTY of a Consumable Item used in an Attack?
A: Yes. STK can exceed the QTY of the Consumable. However, only 1 QTY is consumed per Attack.
Q: A model with Stealth I moves into Awareness of my model with Clairvoyance, but not within LoS. May I react to this model?
A: No. Stealth I prevents any Reactions without LoS.
Q: Is a Shrouded model affected by Taunt Skill?
A: Yes. A Shrouded model is affected by Taunt Skill if a model with Taunt is within its Awareness or LoS. When rolling INT for Taunt, its INT stat becomes public knowledge. If it fails the INT roll, it may declare Nothing, lose an AP, but does not lose the Shrouded State.
Q: Can a Shrouded model use Taunt Skill?
A: Yes. A Shrouded model may use its Taunt Skill normally.
Q: May a model use the Protector Skill to protect a model in Flying State?
A: Yes.
Q: Does a model using Protector need to move within RCH of the attacking model? If it does not, does the Attack fail?
A: A model using Protector does not need to move into RCH of the attacking model. If it does not move into RCH, the Attack does not fail and proceeds normally.
Q: If I have a summoner with STA 2, can I summon a creature of Tier 3 or more?
A: Yes, as long as your Summoning Limit is not full at the time of casting the Spell that summons the Tier 3 or higher creature. You can exceed your limit if it is not full, but you cannot summon new creatures if your limit is full.
Q: Does the summoned creature that a model with Summoner Class starts the game with count toward the Summoning Limit?
A: Yes.
Q: A Gargoyle is summoned within LoS of one of my models. Can my model react?
A: No. The Gargoyle is not the Active model. For a legal Reaction, the model would need LoS or Awareness of the summoning model.
Q: Do summoned creatures count toward Broken Morale?
A: No.
Q: How does Dispel work against summoned creatures?
A: Dispel must target the summoned creature, so the caster cannot use the Targetless Trait. If the summoned creature is hit by Dispel, it is immediately removed from the field without any further rolls. A creature may Dodge the Dispel.
Q: If a model would receive multiple instances of a Tiered Skill or Trait, do they stack?
A: They stack if they use Arabic numerals and do not stack if they use Roman numerals.
Q: If I have two models on the field with the Tactician I Trait, do I apply both?
A: Yes.
Q: If my model is Enchanted by a Spell that has a star in the PW column, does that mean it is Attacking with INT?
A: No. It is still Attacking with the stat associated with the original means of Attack. However, the Attack has the Spell Trait for the purposes of other effects, such as Resistance (Spell).
Q: Do penalties and/or bonuses stack?
A: Yes. Penalties and bonuses stack, and all applicable modifiers are applied. When halving or multiplying multiple times, round up after each instance.
Q: Can a model Dodge a friendly/allied Attack?
A: No. The friendly model is not expecting the Attack and therefore cannot Dodge it.
Q: When using Stratagem Exploit Weakness, do I need to choose one model when selecting the Stratagem?
A: Yes.
Q: Can a model with Hit and Retreat that is in the Engaged State perform Walk due to Hit and Retreat after it Attacked a model?
A: No.
Q: How does Redirect Damage Spell work?
A: A model using Redirect Damage must target a model using an Attack Action. If that model declares an Attack targeting the caster of Redirect Damage, this results in a Confrontation. If the caster wins the Confrontation, the attacker scores no successful Hits, so nothing happens. If there is no Confrontation and Redirect Damage is cast, any non-critical Hits that would be scored by the affected model are instead scored on that model. The caster of Redirect Damage is considered the source of those Hits.
Q: If my model successfully Dodged, does it avoid being hit by the Ricochet Trait?
A: Yes.
Q: If my model is targeted by an AoE and declares an Attack against the user of the AoE and wins the Confrontation, do other models under the AoE suffer its effects?
A: No. The Attack is cancelled due to Confrontation, and the AoE is not placed.
Q: If my model is under a Targetless AoE and declares an Attack against the caster, what happens?
A: Both models perform normal Attack rolls without Confrontation, as they do not target each other.
Q: When does the effect of Flameskin trigger?
A: At the same time as all other Attack results, at the end of the Resolution Step.
Q: Can I assign a faction-specific Upgrade to a semi-neutral or neutral model?
A: Yes.
Q: If a model with Warrior Class is in Defensive Stance, does it apply its Armsmaster Class in the Reactive Turn?
A: No. Armsmaster applies only in the Active Turn, and Defensive Stance only affects the default STK of the Attack.
Q: Can I apply an STK modifier in the Reactive Turn, such as Second Wind or Fencing Combat Art?
A: Yes.
Q: Spectral Lance Spell says it may target any model within RCH. Does this mean I can target models without LoS?
A: No. This only allows Spectral Lance to target the non-Active model in Reaction.
Q: If there are contradicting rules, which rules take precedence?
A: Skills, Traits, States, and Classes take precedence over General Rules. Rules found on Cards and in Spells take precedence over General Rules. If there are discrepancies in physical components or the Guildhall Party Builder, the online PDF version of the Rulebook takes precedence.
Q: Can a model take multiple Upgrades with the same name?
A: No.
Q: If a model with Resistance II (Spell) is hit by a template with the Spell Trait, is the template cancelled?
A: No. The model with Resistance II (Spell) suffers no effects, but other models under the template are affected as normal.
Q: If an Enchantment Spell grants a Trait to a model, is that Trait applied to all Attacks made by that model?
A: Yes.
Q: If I have a Spell Attack with the Melee Trait, will it be affected by Shield or Masterful Parry? How about the Ranged Trait? What if the Spell has both Traits?
A: A Spell with the Melee Trait is affected by Shield and Masterful Parry. The same applies for the Ranged Trait. If the Spell has both Traits, you must choose which Trait is used when declaring the Attack.
Q: Does the Hit from Backstab Skill get converted by Decisive Blow Assassination Combat Art?
A: No. It is a Hit, not a Successful Attack Roll.
Q: Can an Artificer apply an Enchantment to itself while holding a two-handed weapon or while Engaged?
A: Yes. It is not casting the Spell, only applying the effect.
Q: If my Nightshade uses Mastery of Poisons and then uses Cunning Precaution Assassination Combat Art, does she gain Poison I or II?
A: She gains Poison II. Mastery of Poisons Upgrades any Poison I to II, even if gained during the turn.
Q: If Chiyohime summons a Riftspawn using her Deathweaving Fan, where is it placed, and does it count toward the Summoning Limit?
A: The Riftspawn is placed in Base Contact with her, regardless of where Dead models are. It counts as a summoned model and follows all summoning rules, including counting toward the Summoning Limit and being removed if Chiyohime becomes Incapacitated.
Q: If my Guildsworn Knight uses Unconventional Tactics, do States and Spells applied by Stratagems (like Hexcaller or Mind Invasion) also end?
A: No.
Q: If two different models both Wound a model with Berserker in the same Activation sequence can the Berserker model ignore both Wounds?
A: Yes, a Berserker can ignore all Wounds that occur at the same time, like multiple Hits from different models or Chain Attacks. Note that effects that happen upon Wounding a model happen after the Berserker roll is performed and do not happen if Berserker ignores the Wound.
