Reach (RCH) is the distance at which a model can target another model or point with a weapon, Spell or ability.

  • Melee Reach — a short Reach (often 0–2"); RCH 0 means the models must be in Base Contact. Used by a Melee Attack.
  • Ranged Reach — given as one or more distance intervals, each with its own Accuracy modifier. Used by a Ranged Attack. Example: 0–20": 0; 21–40": −3 means no penalty up to 20", and a −3 modifier from 21" to 40".
  • Casting Aura — a Reach used by some Spells that can only target models inside the caster's Casting Aura.

A model can reach a target on a different elevation if its Reach is long enough. Reach is checked together with Line of Sight when declaring or resolving an Attack.
